Ok. I am envisioning a desk sprinkled with rubber bands and paper clips. (note that I have not seen your desk because your office is high security clearance therefore requiring keycards AND whispering when in contact with those 'on the outside'.) for those like myself can you clarify whether those items are constrained or allowed to move freely on the desk surface? does that freedom explain why there is a high level of security? or is it just because otherwise strange people will come in and pee in your office's office plants?

that's accurate. they are free-range office supplies.

and you are right that the office isn't very welcoming--(more out of awkwardness than security), but at least it's not like caroline's office: "OK, I guess you can come in, but DON'T LOOK AT ANYTHING!"
